TFL joins ZDHC

TFL enhances its leading position in the leather industry by increasing its commitment to safe products

Beginning May 2017, TFL became a recognized ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) value chain affiliate. The membership of ZDHC is an important step of TFL towards its ambitious product stewardship strategy, which is to offer safe chemical products to customers and to give excellent advice on their safe use to protect employees, public health and the environment.

The ZDHC programme is leading the way to eliminate hazardous chemicals in the global textile, leather and footwear value chains. With its Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL) it sets a new standard in the industry. The MRSL lists more than 150 chemicals to eliminate from intentional use in chemical products used for leather manufacture. Using MRSL compliant chemical products will greatly help tanners to comply with the multitude of Restricted Substance Lists (RSL) for leather.

TFL has already established an internal auditing process to ensure compliance of its products not only with the ZDHC –MRSL list but also with REACH and all EU directives and major national and international regulations.
