Pickling and Tanning - Hint 2

Specialty fatliquors are often applied in chrome tannage to achieve uniform dispersal of natural fats, and especially soft leathers. TFL has specialties which promote uniformity of results, consistent bright dyeing, and where necessary, controlled fogging properties.

To improve fibre separation and disperse residual natural fat suitable electrolyte stable fatliquors can be added in the pickle or chrome stages. Such fatliquors / dispersing agents are in the BORRON and CORIPOL range. This will produce improved physical properties and yield softer, brighter leathers. If the wet-blue is to be used to produce automobile leathers due consideration must be given to the fogging characteristics of any fatliquor used.
