Richard Fenton, born 1967 in Nottinghamshire (UK) is married and has two daughters and a son.

After completing his studies at university in Nottingham UK, he went onto qualify as a chartered accountant (ACA) with the ICAEW and later became an FCA based on his professional experience in industry.

He left Touche Ross in 1994 to join a manufacturing client, then moved to the internal audit & consultancy team at Dalgety plc where he completed a 3 month secondment at a Dalgety division in Canada in 1996 and was then promoted to Group Management Accountant at the London HQ.

Following the successful break-up and sale of Dalgety plc, he joined the polymer sealing division of Smiths plc and held a number of senior operational finance positions through the growth and merger of 3 polymer sealing groups over 6 years (John Crane, Forsheda and Busak+Shamban) before as Finance Director EMEA he was part of the team selling the business in 2003 to Trelleborg.

After 18 months at the US corporation Danaher after the merger of Gilbarco and Veeder-Root in the retail petroleum sector, Richard joined the Vita Group (formerly British Vita plc) as it was taken private with the backing of the US private equity group TPG.

In his 7 years a Vita, Richard played a key role as the CFO Cellular Foam in transforming management reporting, driving financial performance and streamlining internal processes. He led a number of business disposals as part of the break-up exit strategy and was General Manager for a Vita business in France.

Before joining TFL in 2015 as Group CFO, Richard completed two short assignments at IMI plc and then Alvarez & Marsal in the PEPI division (private equity and performance improvement). contact
